Pattern Assignment, 2-3x3 ft. Acrylic on Canvas. Through exploration of the concepts around patterning, I created a process for the deconstruction of order through breaking down visual pattern. Each abstraction contains a “core” pattern, a common symmetrical, structured design based on the symbol of a heart. The paintings also contain pattern elements including, development (complexity), extension (growth), and pattern imbalance (dematerializatiion).
